On August 13th, YouTuber Clout Challenge uploaded a compilation of the memes (seen below, left), which received over 62,500 views, 1,000 likes and 55 comments in one month. One such example comes from TikToker datboybrock, who uploaded the earliest-known video featuring the song on August 5th (shown below), receiving over 1.1 million views, 142,000 likes and 3,600 shares in a month and a half. The exact first time the song is used as a meme is unknown, but it appears on TikTok as early as August 2020, shortly after the song was released. Since being uploaded, the video received over 400,000 views, 10,000 likes and 290 comments in roughly one and a half months. The exact lyric used in the memes occurs around the 1:15 mark (seen below). The original song that the meme references is pulled from YN Jay’s “Coochie Land” that was released on August 3rd, 2020, and uploaded to the hip-hop artist’s YouTube channel on August 4th. The trend became popularized in August and September 2020 following the song’s release. In various Coochie Man clips, TikTok users record themselves singing along to the song while transitioning scenes based on the lyrics, especially used in makeover-type videos.
